The CMT course shall be prescribed by the department in order to prepare individuals for employment as certified medication technicians in intermediate care facilities and skilled nursing facilities (ICF/SNF). The program shall be designed to teach skills in medication administration of nonparenteral medications, which will qualify students to perform this procedure to assist licensed practical nurses (LPNs) or registered nurses (RNs) in medication therapy.
